Guys, I witnessed a best friend of mine get killed on his Super M Farmall Saturday night in Newport, TN. We were backing it off of the trailer in gear, and it didn't have good brakes. We don't have a middle ramp on the trailer and when I told him to cut his front wheels over to catch one of the ramps he popped the clutch and the tractor went straight over on top of him. The steering wheel broke on top of his chest. Two guys came over and helped me push the tractor on its side while somebody drug him out from under it. This incident has changed my life forever. What I'm trying to say is DON'T TAKE CHANCES with these old tractors. If the brakes ain't good fix them. PLEASE, if you don't have a middle ramp for your tricycle tractors have one made. If we would have had a middle ramp the outcome would have been totally different.

I am also sorry about your loss. I have personally never had to go through the hurt and pain of actually losing somebody during a tractor pull, but I have seen some really bad things happen. I am very sorry about your loss.

I am sorry to here about your friend. Two years ago I watched a friend of mine load his B farmall with no center ramp and he lost it off of the side and it flipped over on him, luckly he was alright. He always runs that thing about 1/2 throttle and uses the brakes to help steer. This time he got the angle a little wrong and needed to turn alittle harder and jabbed the brakes, and over it went. I also know a guy who was late for a pull and was loading his tractor with all the weights on the back and flipped it over backwards, he was alright. Be safe out there and take your time.

Hello,
sorry about your loss.
I was always tought to put the tractor in reverse let out on the clutch with the tractor at idle and just back down slow, that way the tractor engine is the break and there is know chance of ever having it do something like that.
Even with out the middle ramp the tractor backs up slow enough you can steer it and you dont have to worry about anything else just watch were your going
Just my thought
Shawn

I have to agree with the posting above, equipment needs to be in good condition and every effort made to minimize the risk. There are enough things that can go wrong that are outside of our control that we don't need to increase the risk by operating equipment that we know isn't safe. My condolences, Rich
