Does anyone know how I could go about shaving the top of the lugs on the rear tires? Basically, I want to re-profile them, as they are badly worn such that they are rounded off. All I want to do is flatten the top. What can be used to do this? Thanks.

I have always used a chain and a piece of rough concrete, that way they are not techninically cut tires. Make sure that you spin the tires in reverse, or spin them around and then use a forward gear. I used to do a lot of blacktop pulling, and would turn the tires around backwards. Not only did it wear down the back side of the lug, it sharpened the leading edge for dirt tracks.

What kind of puller are you? Most people know new tires are the worst thing for pulling. Now go crawl back under your rock. If you can't say something helpful stay away.

Can't you read? He did not say shaving WITH a tire. He said "Shaving Tires". How dumb can you be? Shaving tires is what you do when the hairs on your tires get to long. A nice close shave will make your tires look nice and clean. And NOBODY wants rattie looking tires.
I would suggest using hot shaving cream to soften the hairs before you shave.

You can call Epperson Tire 937 855 4326 they can sell you a grinding disc for the top of the lug and a grinding cup for the front of the lug if you want one.

TO START WITH...YOU CAN TAKE THE ROUND EDGES OFF BY SPINNING THEM IN REVERSE ON CONCRETE..BE SURE TO HAVE SOME WEIGHT ON THE TIRES AND CHECK THE INFLATION FIRST....THIS WILL GET YOU STARTED..GO A LITTLE AT A TIME AND WATCH THE BARS FOR EVEN ...IF YOU WANT A PROFESSIONAL JOB ..THESE PEOPLE USE A JIG AND CAN DO ANY WAY YOU WANT..AL
