I have been concidering building a radical 2-cyl diesel to pull with. I was thinking of boaring it out and putting a blower on it. Has anyone tried this with an R-830 model tractor. I think it would be alot of fun to pull with. There is some major torque in those old diesels, and if i could balance the engine right maybe I could make it work

I want to know how you put a turbo on a 730 Diesel. I want to know everything and if it worked well.

Go to E-Bay or your local auto junk yard looking for the wipple chearger off a 90's 3800 series front wheel drive.Used these on some Ford v-6's as well. Can drive off the pulley and bypass the blower when clutch is pulled. Boring is not required but modified 13mm pumps and matching injectors.from Albert at Rennissance Tractor would be required.

I didnt think albert did anything but stock work on the diesel 2 cylinders. Just calibrate and check pop-off was all he told me he could do, has he started doing performance work? Thanks

Albert says his modified 13mm pumps will provide so much fuel an 70/720/730 will loose power from being too rich. And the 80/820/830/840 will look like they are burning bunker oil.

Can someone post contact information for the person doing the injector/pump work? I have 2 R's and need to have both pump racks and all 4 injectors freshened up.

One of the R's is for show and the other to play with. The idea of using a blower on it has been kicking around for a while. My only concern is the R's do not have the center main bearing and I don't know how much the crank can take. Any ideas??

That's a BIG overbuilt crank. I think that it would take a lot more than a blower to break one.

they say 100 horse is all an R crank will hold because it lacks the center main. I would imagine a blower would have similar effects.
