Tractorod, how did you get the big allis motor to start? I am having the same problem on a 300 ci 12 to 1 motor in my WD.

KB I had to build a decompressor and go to 24 volts. Works real good and starts real easy. Tractor Rod

Did you stay with the original starter..probabaly not..What did you use? By the way thanks for the info. My engine is only 300 cid so I was hoping I wouldn't need a decompressor.

Thanks for the info. I had my stock starter rebuilt, got a good battery and new battery cables, and got the timing set right and it will start now.... but not by much. Have you pulled the 403 cid motor yet?

KB I have not yet pulled the motor. My biggest concern is it is in a unstlyed WC and I had to use the original zenith carb. Sure hope I can get enough air through it. Rod
