I would like to talk to anyone that pulls a W-9, Mine is all stock. I have not pulled it yet, would like to know how good they do and how to set one up to pull. Also need some ideas on how to build wheelie bars for it. Thanks for any help you can give. TR

Texas Red, I used to pull a McCormick W-9 until I tried to build the motor and the machine shop ripped me off, but that's another story. When mine was still stock (still running that is), it pulled pretty well. It tended to be a little heavy on the front sometimes, so I put a set of 16-inch F-30 spoke wheels on the front. They required some new tapered bearings to fit the spindles and I don't remember what size they are, but it wasn't a big deal. Also, 38-inch rear wheels help in the traction department...34-inch tires are generally a disadvantage. As far as the motor is concerned, a bigger carb was helpful, but otherwise mine was pretty stock. I did build a set of wheelie bars, but they are simply attached to the C-frame, and I pulled off the swinging drawbar. You can email me if you like and I would be happy to try to help, but I'm certainly no professional.
