I was thinking of installing an electronic ignition on my 52 John Deere G along with a K&N air filter and was wondering if there will be that much of a change in the performance? Thanks

I use a MSD 5A and a hotter coil on my '51 A with stock point ignition. I credit it with making the most noticeable difference over some other minor mods. Really helps the motor when the weight box comes up on you! I use a K&N filter also, but I can't really say its worth the $$ because I added dual manifold and longer isolated intake runner at the same time.

Jack.. with the ele ingition, I don't know that it will help you much in the HP's, but it will definitely be more consistant, and will last forever. I have had mine in the G for about 6yrs, and I have never touched it.. The air cleaner.. I use a try type element, with the elbow cut off and turned down. I think it will help a little, but you'll probably only see in the increases on a dyno.. and off course when only a few inches count.. (and lots of times they do..) JDGnut

It will only help if you are running out of power. A few more horse won't help if you spin out.
