Does a 2 cylinder John Deere need a power block to be competive? I'm talking about the stock classes. Seems you JD people go nuts over one.

I run a 1952 G, and my Grandpa runs a 1938 John Deere G. We were un-beaten this summer in the 5500 and the 6000 pound classes, thats almost stock.

yes JOHN DEERE IS HARD TO BEAT!

No a powerblock is not always needed. Folks that stroke their tractors like the powerblocks because with the bigger bore it makes it easier for the connecting rods to clear the cylinder walls when there is a big stoker crank installed. Of course there is not replacement for displacement.

You do realize that you opened a can of worms when you asked "Is a Deere competitive" I can't wait to read some of the responses from the "other" brands. HA HA
