What class do you want to pull in? Stock or open? If you wanted to pull in the stock class, the most you will gain with a power block in a late A is the ability to pull 5500 class in second gear. Getting you close to the 3mph. limit. Once you go 6500 and up you'll be back in your slow 1st gear. If the tracks you pull on are good power tracks you'll do just fine with the stock block. But if the engine needs work anyway and the power block won't put you in the open class buy one because the prices I've seen quoted to you are dirt cheap. That way if you want to spend more money in the future you already have the big bore block.

Frist thing to do is to see if the club or places you are going to pull at will let you pull in the class you want with at block in the A. I have found that if you do'nt beat any one with one in your tractor it's ok to have one. I have also found that with a stock block bored to 5 3/4 or if the block can be done to 5/78 you will get more power with it then the 6 inch power block. Let us know what you want to do and we can help.

hey, so do you think i should just bore it out? it hink that is what i am going to do cause i cant find a power block to cheap, the ones priced erlier were either a joke from a friend or a guy coulndt get back with me. so i cant really find one. how far would you bore it out and how could this give you more power than the 6 inch cyliner? how wide is a stock A piston? i thought it was 5.5 . but mayeb not. so far i am getting a big nut G carb and new radiator core. but what else to do? write back on here or email me. thanks shohn

If you have enough power to spin out then you don't need it.
