Sweeper,Eddie Haskell,Fat Lady would anyone be willing to share any Info with the rest of us? Spotter we could use a comment from you as well. Also, anybody got any weights to sell? Rumor has it that someone may have sold some weights without permission from the rightful owner. Hillbilly Hooker

H.H.
You guys didn't miss a thing other than a great location and a track that was great for pulling but as Wide Front explained the sled crew knew nothing about antique pulling. Instead of adding weights to the box for the heavier classes they would "drop" something on the sled at a preset distance. It was like hitting the end of a chain that was tied to a stump. Everyone that was able to pull to the preset distance were stopped within a few tenths (inches) of each other.

The only "pure" pull (strictly against the weight box) was the 7500# class. Sweeper neglected to mention the Fat Lady took 1st in it and she was just hitting her stride when they did what ever they did in the 8500 and 10,000# classes.

Their scales were off by approximately 1000 pounds (yes, ONE THOUSAND).

All in all the sled crew completely messed up what could have been a super pull. We were advised that this sled would definitely NOT be back next year. Credit does go to Midsouth Flywheelers for giving us the best tract we have been on this year. It was biting to the end.

Thanks Spotter for that fine commentary. The one we went to was ok except they forgot to advertise that it was antique instead of Superfarm Turbos. I did manage to give em a butt waxing in the 7500. There was some good antiques there too. Brockmire father and son was there from Cape and they whupped my a$$ in the 6500 with a Wk40 (good tractor). p.s. Big Piston gave me an attitude adjustment too in 6500. Yall gonna make it to Melborne on Oct 25th ? If not will see you in Tunica. H.H

Pulled my first tractor that day. I pulled a JD G, I just finished restoring this year but didn't do too well. Oh well, it was all in fun anyway. I think I placed around middle of the 6000 farm stock class. It seems, I just ran out of power. My buddy beat me with his JD 620. Glad everyone had a good time.

Good track and great location, the sled crew was horrible, no fault of the Mid-South flywheelers, the truck pullers had furnished them with a sled. It was the wrong kind of sled for our tractors.
It was set up for trucks and "smoke blowers".

Me, Confederate, and a IH H were in a pull off for 6,500 until some of the other pullers(I won't name any names, they know who they are HA HA) made enough noise to start the class over. I ended up 5th, no hard feelings.

Mid-South flywheelers did an excellant job keeping things going considering the crew running the sled.

Won the 8500 & 10,000. Confederate, the Widder, did good, Atomic bomb from Turner did real good, the Fat Lady did not sing verry loud.

The track was great the competion was good the MIdsouth Flywheelers had a wonderful track but I'm in full agreement with everyone the sled wasn't made for our tractors and the scales had me weighing less than I weighted when I was in kindergarden.

Sweeper didn't mention the fact that my mighty M came in 3rd and his sweeping M came in fourth in the 6500LB modified class.

Hope Mr. & Mrs. Widder are still Married I offered to sell the weights back I don't want to break up any happy homes.
