i have a 1951 "A" JD and it is a stock puller and i do real well with it and all i did was bore it 125,000s over and put dome pistons in it and shave the head 30,000s and have the cam ground and u should have ur self a good stock class puller.if u want to make it an open class puller is do what iam saving up to do is have it bord 250,000s over, have the cam ground, put propain pistons out of a "D" JD, have the shaft stroked, and put a 60 JD head on it and u will have urself a heck of an open puller. o and for the stock class try 16x9x38 tires on the back and for the open class try 15x5x38s.

p;s iam 13 years old good luck Dustin Miller. Millers Pullin Team

Your best bet for good info would be to do a search of archives on the John Deere discussion board. It all depends how much $$$ you want to spend.

Dear Wild Bill, first I'd get an electronic ignition, that's usually good for adding about 30 hp or so.

First of all, go to your money tree with all the baskets you can haul. You will spend it all, and wonder if you could spend a little more for one more boost!!!!! !!!!! Good luck, and I hope you win every time you hook. I pull stock class more for fun than anything else, but fun costs $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
