I have a buddy of mine who is selling out. He has a set of Denny's roller rockers that is still new, he never put it together. Wants $150 for them. What has been everyone's experiences with them. I see they are 1.65 ratio. What is a ratio for an H then? Anyone think they are useable for an H or are they too long....thanks, AC

Will that much lift cause problems with M&W 4 1/4
pistons, and the head being shaved .150? I already have a cam reground but it is pretty much stock lift. Thanks for the help.

Ive often wondered the same thing about Murphys rocker arms. They are a 2.0 ratio and im not sure if they ll do anything other than look shiny.Any comments would be wonderful since nobody can seem to come up with a real answer. I pull a JD 70 and ive got cut rockers right now .Would there be an advantage?

Denny's rocker arms are stock rocker ratio for a M or a H all they do are look pretty but the 1.9 ratio or the 2.0 ratio that are available from Murphys or from Lemmons will give you more valve lift without tearing the motor down and regrinding the cam, the extra lift at the cam will give you a little more lug on the end of the track.

Example: If the cam has .300" lobe lift and the stock rocker ratio is 1.65, you multiply .300 X 1.65 and you get .495" valve lift. If you take the same cam with .300" lobe lift and put a 2.0 rocker ratio on that motor you multiply .300" X 2.0 and you get .600" valve lift. That is a .105" difference in lift at the valve and believe me it gets you a few more feet on the track.

So then...what you're saying is that the roller rockers sold by Denny's are useful only for friction reduction, and not for increasing horsepower/torque noticeably...have I got that right?

It sounds like that's it. Sure it would help if you were turning some rpm's, because ANYTHING helps if it takes the friction out of the valve train. It convinced me enough that I am not going to buy them....AC

AHHHH, thank you for breaking that down. I have been around engines for a while now, and I never knew that. Learn something every day. So how much are the ones from Lemmons or Murphy's?

I have been in the performance cam business for 24 years now and friction on the rocker arms of a motor turning 2500 RPM don't need a high dollar set of rocker arms unless the rocker ratio is raised so you can get more lift. I called Denny's 6 months ago and asked about different ratios and i was told they only have the stock ratio and I asked what good that was and was told that there cams was made to work with them. Now I promise you that is a pile of crap.
