I will be overhauling a case 500 and I was wondering if anybody knows how big of stroke and bore I can go with and if its posible to get more than a 100 hp using the origanal block and without turbo.

The Case 1030 used basiclly the same block with bigger holes for the sleeves. The 500 is 4" bore with a 5" stroke. The stroke was the same on the 1030 but with a 4 3/8 bore I think. The 1030 was a 100 hp tractor stock with a 451 cid where the 500 was a 377 cid. The 1030 was a higher rpm engine and used a different tranny. Same as a Case 400.
