I am rebuilding a Farmall M motor for pulling, i dont know if i need a heavy duty crank and cam and rockers to support bigger high compression pistons, oversize valves, bigger carb, electronic ignition and a big coil. I am doing this project through my school and teacher wont let me start working till i find this stuff out, im not going all out so i dont think i will need a bigger crank but its worth finding out.

If you aren't getting that carried away, you'll get more out of that engine without putting in a cam, rockers (don't wast your money at Denny's, they are the same ratio 1:65 to 1 )and a wild carb. Remember, you will be turning close to stock RPM's. All the air and fuel in the world isn't going to do any good if you aren't turning enough RPM to burn it. Rebuild a good head like the 8060 or whatever that casting # is. Use an LP intake and exhaust. You will get more power per doller using existing International components that if you go elsewhere. TORQUE is made at low RPM's. YOU don't need the biggest valves or biggest carb. Those are HP boosters...HP is usually made at high RPM's. You probable aren't running those. So why set up your engine up to build them?
