I'm building a pulling tractor and changing bore but using same heads. This is changing my compression to around 10 to 1. What kind of gas will I have to run. Is this too high? Thanks!

I know of several 10.? to 1 street rides that run just fine on pump gas but you can be sure the combustion chambers are shaped right and they are getting some swirl to keep the fuel atomized.

They aren't puffing black smoke and running rich to prevent detonation either.

10 to 1 on comp. is good,,,one thing you could try is premiun pump gas 98 or 99 oct.,,if your just pulling the lack of lead in this gas won't bother at all,if you want you can add lead if you think ya need it,,save ya lots of money

Lamont, Put that thing on lpg, 106 octane. Don't get it light enough to get in the 5500. I found a 700 this week might get to play you if I decide to buy it. See you at Tunica.

Oh, yeah!!! You can bet I'll be in the 5500 class. Better not let me find out your recipe for WHOOP GAS!!! Is the 700 you found on LP or is it a Gasser? See ya at Tunica.

most people I talk to say taht 9:1 is about perfect. You will have to run 110 (torco) octane, if not more.....it's 3.39 around hear a gallon
