Need info on this installation, I want to make a 44-6 for pulling. Stumbled upon a B427 Cont. and I want to put it into a 44. Are 44's and 44-6's the same, or is the 44-6 different as to frame length, size, clutch, etc. I believe the 427 is physically some bigger than the factory 226 Cont. Thanks in advance.

airtime wc we had one on a fox silage chopper very sweet running engine. it will fit in your tractor ok but the sheet metal don't work out to well hard to hide. we had one in our neck of the woods years ago, it did run fair but a good m or u minnie would beat it. I think 85/90 hp was all they were. the one that was here was a 203 mh it came with a 331 engine i think?

The engine I have came off of a Fox chopper, it still has the sheet metal on it with the Fox decals. I measured the engine, it has a total length of about 38 inches from the front of crank pully to where the bell housing/clutch assembly bolts to the rear of the engine. How does this compare to the length of a 226? Also, do all Cont. engines have the same bolt pattern to attach the clutch? Need to know how to get it bolted up to the tractor clutch. Thanks.

Theres one running around NC here with a Holley 4 barrel and NOS. He is illegal as they come, but don't get caught because he still don't win. Side covers hide alot. I have a 44-6 and a 44 out back I will check the length tommorow if no one tells you.

They were power units and on irration pumps. They look just like the 226 on a bigger scale.
