How would an M with only an LP manifold and Intake and a bored carb PULL in the 8000 lb class. An M is 248 ,that ad didn't say it was bored or anything, how would that pull in the 8000 lb class, we have two M's one with 264 has trouble in the 6600 class and one with 281 that ALMOST ALWAYS dies in the 8500lb class, And the tractor for sale is RUNNING CUTS..... ..... ..HOW IN THE WORLD....he is either pulling our leg or runs EXTREMELY bad tracks ( or has a secret i don't know about??)

I have seen one around here (West Tn West Ky) that does pretty good up to about 7500 although a couple of JD G's usually beats him. As far as I know he has the LP head and biggger carb and about all. Of course this is pulling in first gear which it seems alot of folks on here don't do as they seem to all be into the bigger classes. We usually pull the Track farmer sled around here if that helps any.

It just says it pulls 8000lb. It doesn't say how far it makes it.

Would probably depend a whole lot on the tire size and the track. A good track can put a hurtin on an M in 6000.

it has tons to do with the sled and track. a stock M would be lucky to make it a 100 ft. around here in the 5000 lb. class, much less 8,000.
