Has anyone ever put on some type of creeper gear on a styled JD G before? If so, what kind of gear did you use, and what all did you have to adjust or replace to get the gear ratio down. Do the advantages of having a creeper gear on a G outweigh the disadvantages of installing it? Also, want to do the same on a 1935 unstyled A, but have no idea on where to start or how this can be done. Thanks for any information.

I have heard some old timers talk about using 720-730 gears in a G, but I don't know exactly what it takes. There is a 38 G in our area that will literally crawl in 1st gear at full engine speed on 15.5x38 rubber and no the clutch isn't slipping either.

Would probably be cheaper to build a motor that would pull first gear than to change the existing first gear. A G has 412 inches to start with. Lot of potential there.

I believe that the 4 speed styled tranny has a slower 1st gear then the unstyled 4 speed trannys...don't quote me on it..but it may be worth lookin into...S:

they're supposed to be the same, some say the styleds are a little slower though...in reality it's not much, maybe a couple of tenths of a mph.
