Our rules here allows 2500 rpm max in super class. That is for all tractors. Even the deeres HaHa. So far I have never seen a flywheel come apart ( The 2cyl. don't turn 2500 though). The most I have heard was a couple rods breaking (and they were welded) It just about comes down to the most cubes and the one that can get the sled moveing the fastest wins even on a soft track. The 460s and olivers still have the big advantage because it is easier to get the cubes in them. Ofcouse the biggest advantage I would say is a TA. The point is from looking at the points standings for 2003 at the NATPA site the results wouldn't change alot from what they are now. I say just build a bigger engine if you want to compete. The man with the most money will either win or blow up. We also have one club with a 12 mph speed limit and the same tractor that wins with one sled will usually win with the other.

The sled made it here last night. He will be having a pull later this month or the first of Jan. No hook fee no trophies. Just to get the sled figured out for the weight classes. The first real pull will be the end of Jan. The scales won't be in for another 2 weeks. I'll let you know.
