We have a wc that we ran 15.5 and then went to 16.9 X 38. We had to drop a gear because the speed changed that much.2nd gear with 16.9 is as fast as 3rd with the 15.5.

Chuck, this will vary somewhat if you are going to run a different brand of tire than what you are now running but if you stay within brands and types of tires the 16.9's will gain 6-7% and the 18.4's will gain you 12-13% in speed over your 15.5's. These percentages are approximate and will vary with rim width, depth of tread and other factors, but this will give you an idea. Mike

Mike thank you I went off of firestones tire book and we are thinking the same way 14.9x38 =3%, 18.4x34=4%, 16.9x38=8%,18.4x38=12% increase in speed But sometimes I don't think to well by myself Thank's for the ansewer back Chuck

Don't know the answer but you will need plenty of torque to keep from choking it.
