Has any one lightened the wish bone on the front end on a M farmall. I have seen some that looks like there is just a pipe that holds the gear box up.I was just wondering if you could cut the two cast pieces that holds the gear box up and just weld a piece of pipe straight up to the gear box. I done have a light lower bolster and aluminum wheels just trying to lose some more weight off the front end.any advice would be appreciated.

yes, it can be bone but most cut the entire wishbone out and a new one out of square tubing...both the middle and the two outside arches

Do I need to use cast metal to weld back to the gear box and the lower cast peice that bolts in the frame or can i use something else.

I may be wrong,, but Would a 560 front end work on the M? If so,, a little steering shaft relocation and lose a lot of weight,, On my 460H, a 460 frontend will bolt into the H,, have not done this yet,, but have measured it,, Hope this helps,, CHadS
