I just bought an H a couple of months ago to pull in the antique class. I managed to make 1 pull before the snow flew and it did good for its first time out of the weeds. I know on some tracks wheelie bars are required. does anyone have any suggestion (or pictures) on making these? i would like to make them so i could add weights to them. traction seemed to be a problem when i pulled. thank you

Hi, Phil. Here's a picture of the bars I built for the Super M. They are like the other guys were saying, and they are easily retracted by pulling the pins and sliding them up. This makes it easier for loading/ unloading. They'll fit on any Farmall.

There are several ways to do it. You can build ones from square tube and bolt them to the axle housing on the culivator mounts or use square u-bolts or use a set up like the hitch mounts. You can also make ladder bar type and run them off the axle housing to rear end mounts. Most associations don't allow you to hang weights from the wheelie bars, but you can bolt a simple angle iron bar to the rear of the deck or go out from the hitch mounts and up from the PTO mount. You'll need to find out from your assoc. what the specs are for pad size, height from the gound, etc. since these vary somewhat. But other than that the only thing stoppng you is your imagination.

I built my wheelie bars the way Wild Horses said,, I used the square tube from the hitch brackets and the bolts, and built the bars from there. I used heavy guage tubing and made them, like the drag cars have them,, well something simular,, They weigh 12lbs each, and I can jack the tractor up with them weighing 5500lbs,, They are about 8 inches behind the rear tires, and 9 inches off the ground with a 5x5 pad on them, I will post a pic of the setup I run in the morning,, ChadS
