To All Who Unfairly Discriminate Based On Color,

There are times when we should put down our different colored gloves and try to help those in need. There are people who are asking serious, simple questions about how to fix things on their tractors. WE NEED TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS, NOT JUST SLAM THEM FOR HAVING A CERTAIN COLOR OR BRAND OF TRACTOR. I mean, yeah it's easy to put down every color of tractor on the internet, but we all know that tractors are as good as the work that went into them. It seems like everyone is busy trying to put down the competition with words. Sure, these are just typed words and they are meant in jest, but sometimes they are not appropriate. These things are settled on the track. Bragging rights are earned, not typed. So, for the sake of those who are using this site as a resource, please quit filling up the forums with "My Balls are Bigger Than Your Balls" talk. If you wanna brag about tractor colors, then start your own discussion. But if a person is asking for help, then PLEASE HELP THEM! I am an Ag Teacher in SW Missouri and I have students who use this site to find helpful information about their restoration projects. There are times to have fun and there are times when we need to work together to help some people who are in need.

Signed,

Mr. J

Mr. J. - there are some fairly honest answers here, but don't send your students to the pulling board for restoration questions, unless they are going to pull the old gals after restoring them.

I like my color as well as the next guy, and will guarantee that I get as many feet down the track per dollar invested as the next guy. And more than most. But, I also understand that if I ask a question on the 'Net, that it is open to all types of answers, and that I should expect that. Part of the deal. Have gotten some good information here, but one heck of a lot more laughs from the keyboard pullers.

Remember, this is free advice on this board. And more often that not, you get what you pay for.

Who put you in charge? There are plenty of antique tractor websites to choose from, and if you don't like a particular one find another one. And if none of them will allow themselves to be policed by you start one of your own. Everybody is just having a little good clean fun. So let us alone.

Agreed, this is good clean fun and I love doing it... but when a person asks for help on something simple, why does it have to be like pulling teeth to get an answer from you guys?? And, in response to the fact that this is a tractor pulling forum and not a restoration forum: There is plenty of color bashing that goes on in the other forums as well. So, all I am pointing out is the fact that if a person is asking for help with a tractor, don't poke fun at him for having a tractor of that color. If a person says,"yeah, my tractor can beat your tractor's ass," then feel free to ream them with tons of reasons why yours is better.

Anyways, just food for thought, keep the strings coming.

I don't see any more brand bashing on the brand forum boards than you would get if you went to a Chevy dealer to ask how to repair your Ford. If you have a Farmall question ask it on the Farmall board and I bet you will get all the help that the people there can muster up. Go to the Farmall board and ask a John Deere question expect to get blasted. If your comments are for real and not to just start a war of words, I feel sorry for your students.

This is a forum on PULLING! not a John Deere Forum. I know that many if not most tractors are JD, but for many years Ford was the no 1 brand. Molines are great pullers, but they are out of business. In many ways we should be glad that Ford, Case, International etc. were bought by Fiat, Otherwise parts would be too expensive or impossible to get. There are NO NEW tractors made in the USA under 90hp!! Being loyal to a brand is as American as apple pie. But make the tractor manufacturers EARN your loyalty. Competition is equally American. I hope everyone realizes that this forum deals with the competitive nature of TRACTOR PULLING. A lot of "trade secrets" are revealed here, which also reveals the good character of those who submit the majority of posts. Despite the possibility that it might be used against them, Pullers are still willing to share information. I don't want to make too much of this, but think about it.

Tractor pullin aint restoration and tractor pullers are not going to give away truthfully a lot of tips that cost them a lot of money to find in the school of hard knocks.
The new forum called restoration tips would be a good place to send your students, or to the forum for the make they are working on.

Love, kisses, brotherhood, peace, education, equality & understanding? Teach your kids how well it's works in the real world with beasts like Hitler & Bin Laden. Works however in the soft warm comfortable classromm & "head in the stars" univeristy profs who have watched too much Star Treck. Most of us are semi well behaved & civilized but warn the kids there is part of the population that will never play fair or by the rules. Now back to " 2nd place is the 1st looser" in competition.

Yes.....but not everyone who uses this discussion forum is using it for pulling purposes. Please realize that. Those of us who use this site for restoration purposes hate having to sort through tons of junk replies, which yes.....some of them are in good clean fun. The only reason I posted this discussion in the pulling forum is because I wanted all tractor breeds to see and reply. Keep the strings coming. I'm not trying to make anyone mad, but just would like to see some more consideration made to the little guys.
