Did some checking on the engine size of a 615 IH combine engine. 263ci 3.560 bore, 4.390 stroke, hp rating@2200 rpm, 80. This motor will bolt right in a 460. With a little carb work & some head work[a little milling & porting] I would think you could easly get 95hp. for less than $1,000 total. I have the # of a guy who has 2 of these motors in excelent condition.

That is Some interesting information. I am working on a engine just like tihe one you mentioned. I think that what you said is very possible too. I was messing with the jet sizes on my engine today,, Finally got some fuel to it!! It had a very bad hesitation in it. Put on a pump, and went 7 sizes larger on the jet and stem. No hesitation, and throttle responce is good. Those engines build rpms in a hurry!!! ChadS

I forgot to mention that the $1000. figure includes the $500. cost of the complete motor. Cheap HP.

I have got a 656 propane engine that is in very good shape. We used the tractor uder a f-11 for two years and it would never drop any oil between changes. Trans. went out and we switched tractors, but it's in Arkansas. May be too far away, but price would be real right.
