You must be refering to the A-C 2800 Series motor
used in the One-Eighty and turbocharged version the 2900 Series used on One-Ninety XT's these were 301 cu inch but I don't think they were made available till 1964. Is it possible they made an industrial version still retaining the Buda name? Is the Buda name cast right on the block or intake? If this engine bolts in a Cockshutt 50 you won't be able to keep it a secret for long espically if you don't have RPM rules. The 2900 Series engine was built at the Harvey(Buda) engine plant right up till the Germans(Deutz) closed it in 1985.
