A-C CA a good puller?

I found a nice stock Allis CA this past week and am considering picking it up. I have been looking for a light weight puller for some time. Being a "red man", all I know about A-C's is that they are awfully competitive, especially in the light classes. Anyone out there got any opinions and/or experience with this tractor. And, maybe pulling suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I have pulled my CA some with 11.2 24's. It seems that the C's pull better. We stripped it down to 2500 and got beat by a B Allis.

The Wilhelm boys each have one that does real well up here in the North East corner of Indiana.
I have never pulled any of the CA's that I have or have had and will refrain from making any suggestions. If I would guess correctly they would clean my clock next season! {:^D

They peek in here now and then.

I would call it a Johnny Cash Allis Chalmers C.
It started out as a C parts tractor. Transmission is a C and that is where the serial number is located, Sooo ya see its a C.

This little Allis Chalmers is a CA. I see so many of these guys taking the lower weight classes that I thought I would keep an eye out and pick one up if it was cheap. Low and behold, one came my way. But, being a Farmall person, I don't know much about the CA tractors (i.e. what works and what doesn't, suggested tire sizes, motor bore and stoke combo's, etc.).

Thanks in advance.

Far be it for me to tell ya where ta start. I try a little bit of everything and find what works a Auburn dont work New Haven and what works at Paulding dont work a Hicksville and on down the line. If your not pullin against me ya might try 13 something or other 28's for tires if ya can find the horse power to turn them and your rules allow. If you want to spend the bucks you can get 3 9/16" pistons in it and still use the standard head gasket.
