I have discovered the minirod still exists.25 years ago when I quit puiing "hot" tractors, they were just getting off the ground in my part of the country. I have noticed that there have been a few pulls in my new neighborhood and I'm getting the old itch, but for a smaller version. I know nothing about rules, weight classes, what is a good rearend and chassis, etc. I can use all the feed-back I can get. Thanks,,,,, Gary

go to interstatepullers.com scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on competitors rule book for a complete set of minirod rules

Here in W. Pa there is quite a few mini's pulling two different types of classes. Small and large tires. Small tire class is limited to 600hp and the large tire class is limited to 1000hp. There are some other rules but that is the main difference. A friend of mine that I went to school with pulls the small tire division. Scott pulls a Mopar based engine with a cut down Ford rear end.

There is something about having a alky-injected 1000hp engine mounted between my legs that keeps me on the antique tractor side of the track. I think it is the universal spinning within a few inches of the family jewels that is the turn off. HAHA

Around here in Mid Missouri, they seem to use a lot of the old Cub Cadet 3 speed, with the Kohler 12 hp engine. This is the cadet that has the automotive type clutch. I know they do extensive work on the engine, and a lot of money in the building. Russ
