What tire limit do you guys have? Dad has a w-6ta that has 18*4*30's on it. It weighs about 6600lbs. I have a 450 Farmall that weighs about 7500 with fast hitch and 16*9*38's. Can I pull it with a fast hitch? We like the dead better but not to many around here anymore. I tried it with my M last year, to much power. Thought I might try it with a tired 450. We pull on a cement slab when we pull dead weight. Its a blast. Thanks for the info. Donnie

Chad can you pull a tractor that set up for sled pulling? I wouldn't mind going up and trying it.

You can pull any kind of tractor set up in deadweight. the only rules is 20 inch drawbar height. the hook point can be under the tractor if you choose!!! That is the key to this style of pulling.. NO a dead weight tractor with the close hitch could not pull transfer, but transfer tractors can pull dead weight. turn the tires backwards, put all the weight on the rear axle, and come on up!! I will find out the excact date and time for Wabash and post it later.. Chad

No tire size limit, just no radials. the only specs for the hitch at this time is 20 inches high,, the hook point can be any where you decide to place it, Just a word of advice,, the closer the hook point to the rear axle, the better it will balance the tractor for deadweight. I have found that brand new tires work perfect!! The hot tire to run is firstone all tracs. the tread pattern resembles the front tires on a front wheel asssist tractor,, not a long bar short bar,, I belive it is called a long bar long bar tire. They have more bars on the tire than the regular tires. We run duels,, Stones, 15.5X38 on the JD,, hooks up very well, we finally got it dialed in with tire pressure, and have made it up into the top 3 places (out of a class of 30 to 40 entries) My opinion is the fast hitch is too far back on a dead weght puller, along with any stock style hitch, you need to be able to alomst put it straight in the air,, (sounds crazy but I think you know what I am talking about) and use weights behind the wheels as a counter balance. Remeber, hitch point,, closer is better in this case. Hope this helps, Chad
