What is the bore of a 450 gas block with the sleeves removed? Is there a piston that can fit in there with little work? Is it a logical build, or a waste of time? Up to how much stroke can I go to and still use the stock M - 450 Rod? Is there really that much of a difference between a 8060 Head and just a plain gas 450 head (I don't remember the casting #) Thanks, AC PS~ Bud Barenie, If you read this, I am calling Volbrachts tomorrow, to see what they have to say. I'll post it....

A 450 block's bore without sleeves is 4.250
You can bore this to 4.375 if you would like.
As far as stroke, I have gone as much as 7.250 stroke with stock rod. Rod needs to be reworked on the big end and narrowed. This is deffinatly not a waste of time. Makes for a durable inexpensive package. The 8060 head is a boat anchor. Sell it or whatever, but use the 450 gas head, or better yet a 450 propane head. Hope this helps. PS what kind of power are you after?

Well, I'm not sure yet..I am a big fan of "Bigger is Better" but I also have to look at building an H, because I don't know if my rig can haul 6,000 plus lbs of tractor and weights. Whatever it may be, It'll have a big stroke and a big bore, with some other trick things that I have built...Thanks, who makes 4.37 pistons? Do they use a stock M rod?

I have pistons made. ARIAS in California does mine. Just call them 310-532-9737 and ask for Nancy. They will make pistons for anything, and quality is awsome and not to expensive. Hope this helps.
