Where could I find a set of 4 inch pistons and sleeves that will fit an Farmall 300 rod and have the same compression height as the stock pistons? Who makes custom pistons?? Thanks.

Ross or Aries will make anything you want.If i was going to go the expense of the 4 inch pistons.then you might as well add some mopre stroke.

Use a set of Massey 44 (4cyl continental gas) pistons. will work with stock stroke. Chad

What is involved in making the 44 massy pistons work with the IH 300 rods?

here are the specs between the 2, IH 300:
2.5 compression height
4.4375 length
.8749 wrist pin

Massey 44
2.5 comp height
4-5/16 length
1.25 wrist pin

The 300 rods have a thicker wrist pin bushing, you coould bore the rod and install the massey 44 wrist pin bushing. 300 rod has plenty of material to do this. Hope this helps Chad

Another stupid question but the Massy 44 piston is taller than the 300. Will this be a problem or is there enough clearence for the piston to miss??
Thanks.

No,, same compression height as the 300, just a longer skirt. Compression height is the distance from the center of the wrist pin to the top of the piston. Length is the over all length of the piston. Hope this helps Chad
