Looking for information on powering up a 404 John Deere with a Turbo. Where is the best place to start using the stock turbo and injection pump? Want to use the original parts to their full potential for the first year, then go to bolt on horsepower after this summer. Any help would be appreciated.

New injectors or rebuilt will help the fastest way to doubble the rpm's if it's a rosamaster pump is take half the weights out of the govner and tighten the spring clamps all the way tight in side the pump but a inline pump off a combine would be the best if possible

more air + more fuel=more power. Give the engine a full tune up, including adjusting valves. Straight pipe the exhaust and come up with a better air intake system (possibly a K&N straight into turbo or something along those lines). Turn up the fuel some and possibly advance the timing. I've seen a 4320 and a couple of 4430's pull with the fuel juiced up and they just waste a lot of fuel. The black smoke justs increases heat within the engine and could damage things. The only real way to tell how your fuel air mixture is, is to purchase a boost gauge and a pyrometer and don't let temps past ~1300*. Anything past that, more fuel won't help make much power but it could melt engine parts. Also, I forgot to mention, adding engine RPM's to 3000-3200 would help also. What tractor are you pulling(rotary fuel pump or inline)?
