Most of the time, When working with a stroker engine, the stock book specs are thrown out the window. Yes it will be close, but not right. An engine, on the dyno has a certain degree of timing that makes peak HP, and is for that particular engine. When you modify an engine, everything changes. Carbs need to be modified, fuel, ignition timing. Governor controls. ETC, Alot of times, pullers who still use the book specs, will not out perform an engine (of the same design) as one that has been dyno tuned. There is a huge difference. I have advanced the ignition on my 460H about 3 more degrees advance since I installed the MSD. It did pick up about 2 hp, and was able to richen the fuel setting on the carb, and picked up a total of 5hp, on the ignition upgrade. I belive that since the spark is more robust, it was able to burn a bit more fuel, and it did. Get it on the dyno and set everything, start with the ignition timing first, and once you get peak HP, don't change the timing again. If you happen to notice a change in the engine sometime, more than likely it will be a carb out of adjustment due to weather conditions. Hope this helps, ChadS
