I'm getting ready to install a dt466 in my 806.Has anyone else tried this and if so what special modifications need to be made to make it work.I've been told it will bolt right up but have not seen anything to back that up.

John I put it on your post on the farmall board. The reason I am useing 06 rails is looks more stock apearing and you need to use the 66 rear motor plate its wider too .Grind it off flush with the bell housing .If you want to add a little body putty in the casting cavity that will get exposed when you grind it off it will look better.

It will fit but you will need some stuff, front engine plate and cover off 1066, rear enging plate 1066, and a set of 1066 siderails. you will also need a tractor waterpump and fan assembly. You can substitute an electric fan for the stock unit if the rules will allow. Depending what you want to pull, there are lots of sfi and non sfi flywheels out there, You also might want to consider a double disc, or slipper clutch if you're gonn put enuff up there to make it get with it!!. Good luck, we are in the process of a 706, with a built dt466. John

I had helped do this swap before. Used a rear engine plate off of a hydro series tractor. it has a 466 block bolt pattern, and a 06-56 bellhousing pattern. 1066 frame rails, and a 826D radiator, has a opposite lower water port same as 466. We also used the flywheel and pressure plate from the 1066, but had to use the 806 clutch plate, 1066 and 806 clutch disk was the same diameter, but splines were different. Hope this helps, Chad
