I'm rebuilding an engine and would like to get some ideas on what lube to use when re-assembling. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Lubri-plate is the best for engine assembly. Use it on the bearings, gears, valve guides, and any friction parts that will not be oiled until run a few minutes. If you use just motor oil, you will run the risk of it thining out to soon and not staying in the areas needed. Lubri-plate will dissipate into the oil as well.
Good Luck

You can get it at most auto parts stores, Napa is where I get mine. If you go to O'reillys or Auto Zone, they dont carry it, but sell their own "version". Usually an independant store has it. Pick you up some plasti-gauge while your there, and check all of your bearings for proper oil clearance. Get the red strip, it goes from .002-.006 and should work well. Good luck

we like to use 90w gear oil, it stays in place a while, so if you let engine sit a while before installing and running it's still there. it's also an extreme pressure lube, witch gives it lubricating ability with out pressure.
