Ron - There would be no weight advantage of a 33 chassis over a 44 chassis. For whatever reason, the 33 is essentially a 44 with a smaller engine. The 55 engine will bolt into a 44 with some creativity on the front engine mount and modifications to the output shaft of the bell housing. I am currently finishing a 590 cubic inch H260 block based engine. I have a 55 engine project also underway for another individual. 700+ cubes seems very easy to get with a J382 block. The problem, as with any engine (especially Masseys), is trying to make it breathe. The stock 44 head, ported and polished with larger valves can only adequately feed approximately 520 cubes @ stock +20% RPM. No matter what cam tricks are done, that is the end of the road! The stock 55 head, ported and polished with big valves is good only to approximately 640 cubes @ stock +20% RPM. Given this, it is not reasonable to build the different engines bigger than that, respectively. Unless of course, you are going to..... Regards, Masseypuller masseypuller@att.net
