Right now on my '51 JD "A" I have the original 13.6 -38s tire on a 12 inch rim... I am not getting enough traction at the tractor pulls! I have an older set of 15.5-38s available, but I don't know how well they will fit the 12 inch rim... Will they? Or do I have to find a 14 inch rim for these tires? If so, What kind of 14 inch rim will bolt up to the "A" cast iron centers? Thanks.!

Ummmmm m..... . I need to fit 15.5 tires on my "A" .... That is the biggest tire allowed in my weight class. I think a 16 inch rim is 2 inches too wide... I need a pair of 14x38 rims... But thanks for the offer!

The 16" rims are ideal for 15.5x38 tires. They reduce side wall & tread buckling so the tread bars are held straighter to bite into the track better.

USE THE 13.6 'S AT A LIGHTER WEIGHT..OR ..PUT ON MORE WEIGHT TO UTILIZE THE 15.5'S..AL

BUT, will the 15.5s successfully fit a 12 inch rim?

the 15.5s will go on a 12" rim but will have to much center crown and will not put down a good footprint. New 16 38 dropcenter rims can be had for about 140$ apiece and that is what I'd reccomend. If your 12" rims are in good shape you should get 50-75 apiece for them. 15.5s supposed to go on 14" rim
