How do D's do in pulls? I see a lot about other models but not much on D's. What's the story. I would be just doing for fun pulls with other antiques.

I pull with a D in the 7500lb class. On a tight track i was running out of power but i recently put 7 inch pistons in my D and an LP manifold on it. Ive been doing quite well this year and in my opinion nothing barks like a D. Plus, people like to see somthing other than a G or an M going down the track. I plan on getting my carb bored out which should put me up over 65 horse. Im excited to see how i do then. If your serious about pulling there are different bull gears for D's that slow it down a bit. We also have a D that someone put a half inch plate on the top of the pistons. Between the higher compression and the bull gears, this D's is putting out 50 horse and is pulling quite well! Hope this helped and e-mail me with any questions or ideas that you have.

If your just doin it for fun it will be great, but if you ever got in it serious it wouldn't be so good. The reason is that its so heavy that when your in that weight class your about 15-20 horsepower less than the competitors.
