I've been reading the messages concerning the NATPA. A bunch of us were going to go to the pull at Murray, Ky in January and as I undertand it is a NATPA pull. Is it safe to go? We just started pulling a while back and we don't seem to have this kind of trouble--is this what we have to look forward to? I think it should be fair for all but come on guys--we're pulling mostly for trophies, small pay backs and bragging rights.

We all went to the USAP pull at Princeton last weekend and our son has not let up yet that he beat the ol' man and momma...I thought this was what it was all about!!! When it's not fun anymore I really wouldn't want to keep doing it. I know everyone has their own agenda, but the way I see it is when families can find a safe place to go and spend time together (be it at home in the garage or at a pull) and you can make great friends like we have this summer, then it's a good thing. We are preserving these old beast for the next generation and I sure would hate for my grand babies to think it is all fussin' and fightin'.

It's safe to go. I've been to several NATPA events and even though I'm not a member they treat me pretty good. They're well organized and as long as you don't take it too serious you'll have fun. You'll see some pretty tough tractors.

We also attended and participated at Princeton.
We were amazed at the friendliness and fairness we encountered.
We pulled against more tractors, had more fun, talked to many very friendly people and were more competitive than we have been all season.
We were the strangers from out of town, but were made to feel like part of the crowd.
Had two of the best hooks all year and were lucky enough to take two firsts.
My thanks to USAP and all the other people that make it possible for us to have this much fun.

go an have a good time. i ws at columbus, looked to me like all were having good time. sanctioned pulls or local pulls always have 2 groups of pullers. the die hard pullers an the cry babies. you just need to decide which group you want to fall into. i would say from your post you are probably a die hard puller.most pullers pull both natpa & usap. guess it can't be all that bad. later

I for one like the way you think. Don't let them change that.

Not having been around tracor pulls that much, i do really like them. Are there any associations which only run stock or equal tracors, no hot heads or propane with diesel, stroked ect. I'd like to see a class pull just like they came from the factory. However I have built a couple of hot diesels for farmer/pullers, so I shouldn't gripe, should I

In eastern Ct there is a club that pulls stock tractors. Well most of them are stock. Some of the guys have done a few non stock things although the tractors look stock. they don't always win though, and if you watch a few pulls and get to know the tractors it is obvious who is legal and who isn't. I don't pull with them, am working on a AC WD, but don't know if I am going to pull it, it may depend on how the club goes in the next year or two, and how I am feeling about it. I think there is a club in central MA, or southern NH that has stock tractors too. They come to the Woodstock CT fair, but that is the only place I have seen them.
