I just purchased a pair of used 12.4 x 42", 45 degree rib, Good Year tires mounted on custom rims which have been fabricated from 38" pressed steel, 9 bolt centers with 42" rims welded on with spacers. A very nice professional fabrication job was done. Look very original. Would these be of value for pulling using 23 degree rib 42" tires? They would weigh considerably less than cast centers and would offer quite a bit more rubber on the ground vs 38" tires.

if you've got the power to pull them, and it's allowed in your club (most limit you to 38s), then by all means do it.
