Bought new valves and its at the machine shop having the valves ground for the 8776-DA head for my '43 Farmall H. In the meantime I came by a 300-350 head, 361479-R1. I was wondering what gains I would get by putting the 300-350 head on the H engine.

Could I use the 300-350 maifold and carb on the 8776-DA head until I know the 300-350 head is okay? Would the engine with the original head and the 300-350 mainfold and carb run okay? I have to rebuild either carb I would use, so I would just prefer to do the 300-350 carb if possible. Any gains with just themanifold and 300-350 carb?

Thanks in advance...

Regardless of the head you use. Put on the 350 manifold, if you have an original H manifold. I assume their like the M to 450 manifolds. The original manifolds have a block holding the exhaust & intake together. The 450 or 350 manifolds use three fins. The fin manifold will flow so much better that it will condense water above the carb. Compare the two & you'll see what I mean.
