Was going to restore a 43 A. Got it loose and the head and block are junk. Time to play. Got another standard block with its pistons, which are the gas conversion set pistons that Deere put out (they are 1/4" taller than the all fuel and are cast iron too). How much can I take off the head and block? Which is better to shave? I would like 45-50 HP. I would like to pull for fun. But I do farm with this stuff. It is hand start. I have the stock carb. Would a G carb help? Do cam regrinds help. Or is it more usefull on the real hotrods. Will be putting on a cold manifold. Don't have one yet. Who has a good one? Never done one yet, Please give me ideas on what to do. Thanks to all for your help.

Thanks, Will P

just put a set of .045 or .090 aluminum pistons ant mill .045 off the head. just clean it up. u can put a cam in it, and that would give you between 43 & 45hp. 42w/o cam
