My father had a 1206 super stock with 2 chargers in the late 70's early 80's the made 1200 horse +/- in its day it was unbeatable 7 time New York state champ and 5 time vermont champ. Until the 1066's really came out as super stock it was about unbeatable.

If I had a dollar I'd bet his name was Brud and that he really enjoyed his dinner. We used to run a ss 460 and hit most of the same pulls that the midnnight special ran. Last I heard that tractor was setting in a shed over in mass and hadn't been run in 10 years or so?

The metalflake paint job Midnite Special was a

New York tractor? I remember him pulling in

Canandaigua and at the Bull Pull. Had a young guy

wrenching on the tractor who always carried a

18 or 20 inch crescent wrench. Thought the tractor

was retired after mechanic died (car crash) ? This

is Baystate Binder's dad?

was? sorry to here that, 15 yrs ago Brud was a friend. Don was the mechanic that used to haul the tractor around and work on it. Did you used to hit the pulls w/ Brud? I don't remember him bringing kids to the pull, in 1980 I was 14. Remember that 560 that Stu Kinney used to bring? and that 4020 Rockefeller used to have? And that wicked allison shaw bros used to run?

My father bought the tractor from brud. I believe Conway died after he sold the tractor. Did any one remember the bad accident Earl Horton had when the sled came up on top of his tractor.

P.S anyone want to buy a 1206 super stock tractor?

Yeah that accident was up in Addison, he has since put together a brute of a 1066. I have always wondered where that 1206 ended up.If you want, email me location and current status on tractor, Mike

By any chance was your Dad from Valatie,NY?If so I saw his 1206 in The Puller years ago.The late Dickie Sullivan from Naylor,MO used to pull a 1206 called "The Duster" in the early 70's that was pretty tough. He then went on to pull a 1066 and 3688 with the NTPA.
