Which pump have you got?If it's the short,about3"tall,pump then throw it away and go buy you a DG or JDG model pump. Now to turn up the fuel, remove 4 screws from rectangle cover on side of pump.Under this cover you will find a spring and some linkage. There is a bolt that runs through the center of the spring that must be removed.Pay close ATTENTION to how all this comes out so you can put it back together properly.Remove any other linkage that will come out easily. Now in the bottom of this cavity is a small hole, look in this hole for a allenhead screw. If the srew is not visible it will be neccesary to turn over the engine to line it up.CAUTION TURN ENGINE OVER BY HAND NOT WITH THE STARTER AND WITH THE FUEL SHUT OFF!There is a possibility the engine could start and you would have a runaway until the engine blows up.Now with that said back to turning up the fuel. With the screw lined up just turn the screw to the right to increase the fuel, count the number of turns you make so you can turn it back to the original setting later. What this does is pulls up on a leaf spring to allow the fuel plungers to travel in farther, allowing more fuel to enter the pump chambers. One other note,if this is the original pump and has never been worked on,this may not be possible to adjust as some were assembled with shims on top of the leaf spring not allowing it to be adjusted.I hope this helps,oh yes, and a rule of thumb 1 turn amounts to about 10 h.p.
