with 150+ hooks i think something has to break sooner or later! funny thing is, i understand at 3000rpm he was kicking the 5000 - 6000 rpm tractors.seems to me Randy Head is THE MAN TO BEAT!!! and yes UNDER PRESSURE will be back on the track, so do your homework.

I saw that one pop! It was a pretty catostrophic explosion. It looked like a super stocker blowing apart! It looked like it had a couple of large holes on the carb side of the block. It totaled the engine, He was just worried about the crank. The force of the explosion blew the side panel up! The 460 wasn't that impressive, the 88 beat it in the first class, but it was still running at the end of the day.

The times I've seen it, especially idling around, it always sounds like its not running quite right (always sputtering), must have gotten the TimC tune job!

I'm really going to miss that sputtering. If I can get my tractor to sputter like the Oliver and pull in 5th gear like the Oliver I'll be one happy camper.

I was told that it looked like it had aluminum rods in it. I was also told that it broke the 1 and 6 rod. It had a cast cam in it, because pieces of it were laying on the ground. I hate that it happened, but it is a very costly reality check for anyone who has a maxed out engine of any brand.

I'm sure that it didn't have aluminum rods in it when it was originally built so unless TimC changed them out, they should have been billet rods. Sounds like it needs to get back to Duke and away from TimC!

There you have it folks, another big stroker piece of garbage!! It blew apart, with limited rpms, geeze, I thought only high rpm motors blew apart everyone!! Funny, never seen any of the 5000 and 6000 rpm short stroke engines around here blow like that ever!!!

I never had any trouble out of the high rpm engine I ran either except for spinning a rod bearing once. Like I said, I hate to see anyone's stuff tear up, but it is just a fact that things streched to the limits, are going to have to give sooner or later. Whose red tractor left a rod in Crossville?

Tough break, atleast parts are plentiful and cheap for his engines.
