What do most of you guy's rules say about engine blocks, say a 264 or 281 on an M, or a D-17 on a WC, or JD powerblocks? Is it allowed or not?

32. Tractor motor and chassis must conform with each other and must be O.E.M.

As you can see our rules are rather open. We do not follow the strict rules for NATPA and we don't have high hp tractors like a 800 MM.

So Burns you wouldn't have any problem pulling against an M with a Super M, 400, or 450 motor? Some guys in our assoc. are crying about it. As hard as these parts are getting to find I kinda like having an option. And by the way Burns I always enjoy your comments, no matter what the brand.

No, because my brother in law and I just finished a 1939 M which was purchased with a block from a W-6 tractor installed. As I am sure you are aware, it is virtually the same as a M block. I don't think you can drop a W-9 block in say a model H.

Isn't it strange how easy it is with a little machining to drop the oversize sleeves for the 264 block into a M block.

Sounds like more brand spec. rules to me. What about open or div 4 or 5 rules?

MM, the engine rule I mentioned was for a stock class. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Here is a link to our rules.

Rule #30 mentions drawbar supports & cradling? What is cradling when supporting above axle height?

I think they're talking mainly about the stock class, but I'm not postive. Personally I think the bolt on OEM stuff is fine, and apparently it's OK to bore and stroke Your "correct" block. I think it's a rule that will be hard to enforce. There will be a lot of grinding off of numbers and other ways of getting around it. They're basically taking something simple and making it complicated.
