well boys. here it is. you should suggest to the club that they start with the 4000lb class an go up to the 6000lb class. then come back an do the 2500-3000 lb classes.this gives the pullers putting on the tractor pull a chance to go get a sody pop & use the portasquat. then come back with the 6500-7000-7500-8500 & heavier. no need for a 3500 class (you probably forgot your weights again) everybody is happy, club made there money, sled operator made his money, tractor pullers got to pull an last but not the least the garden tractors got to pull while we were all taking a break. later richard

What's your problem with the smaller tractors anyway? What ONE person thinks is boring ALOT more people may think are some very competitive classes. If you don't like to watch them don't, but you don't have to go and bad-mouth the light classes just because you don't pull in them.

this is simple. ask the spectatorsin the stands what they want to see. i guarantee you will be dissapointed with the answer. they want to see super m's 450's g's 70's super99's 560's 660's r's 830's. i hope you getthe picture. the sport of antique an classic tractor pulling needs to grow an the garden tractors sure are not the answer. the spectator wants to see smoke, hear noise an be able to see tractor movedown the track merry christmas

UP in MN. where I pull the sled operator does not help the light classes get going. If you can't pull it your done. Do you also notice that towards the end of the pull when the big tractors are pulling the crowd starts too thin out. I agree that 5500-7500 are the most popular classes, and the G JD's, M IH'S, U MM'S, and so on are the tractors that most people relate to or remember from the old days. But plenty of the 8n, 9n, fords, CA, WC, B, C, allis's, A, B, C, IH's, 55, 66, Olivers, ECT....ECT....ECT..... I don't think it's up to you to say who can pull and who can't unless your putting on the pull, then you can do what you want. Up in MN, ND, we have a tough time getting enough tractors in some of the heavy classes.(8500-9500) As so the 10,000 lbs class has been dropped from both clubs that I pull with. These are antique tractor pulling clubs 1959 and older. And as far as excitement, what the crowd wants to see is a triple turboed superstock tractor or multi engined modified than any stock out of the field tractor.
