Does any one know how much a stock A powerblock can be bored out? Does it have to be resleeved to get 6.5 bore? What is max on the standard JD block? Also what is the most stroke that will fit?

There's an A out there somewhere with a 10.125" stroke. You'll have to move the cam though. One pulls with us that has a 9.25" stroke.

Where are you getting power block pistons from..custom engine shop or something resembling a retail business?

I called about pistons for a B power block from a supplier of reproduction/restoration engine parts, but never heard back from them. They said they'd get in touch with me once they had enough orders to do a production run...that was quite a while ago. An engine builder I got a number for said it'd cost around $350 each to custom build the pistons (I'd have to provide them with sample pistons to work from or blueprints). That isn't really a viable option for me, but I am interested in using a power block I picked up. It's in good condition (not cracked) but didn't have the pistons with it.

Thanks.
