I mainly have them for IH,, There is an adjustment where you can unhook the governor spring, twist the assembly which tightens the tension on the spring. Sometimes,, when you do this,, it causes surging cause the governor is fighting to keep the rpms down. I had a super 77 I pulled farm stock for 2 or 3 years, and went through this,, I ended up replacing the whole governor assembly,, even after I had rebuilt the old one. Some industrial engines have a higher rpm setting, those governors will help with your rpm change,, they are set differently, and have a different weights in the governor itself. Also, the 66 governor is a bit faster than the 77's and the 88's,, and have been told they will bolt right on, and they are much easier to tune to get more rpms.. Oliver governors can be a pain when they are stock,, and the engine is not,, they will fight each other, the governor is just too sensitive. Hope this helps,, ChadS

Yes, just a couple of turns tightens the spring tension, look at the spring, you will see a part of the holder,,that sitcks through the spring, ChadS
