Clintonia Antique Farm Power Club
General Pulling Rules 1. Tractor and engine must be of brand name, manufactured in 1956 or before, and have the serial number in its proper location. There can be no alterations that change the appearance from its original specifications. Every tractor must have fenders. 2. Weight classes are as follows: 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500, 6500 lbs. (+/- 1%). A 7500-weight class may be added depending on the event. No fuel can be added after weighing in. Tractors are divided by year of manufacture. 1940 and prior are designated “Antique”. Machines manufactured in 1941 and after are considered “Classic”. Fun Class and Farm Stock Class are not divided by year. (Farm Stock Class rules are listed separately.) 4. Each tractor will have a minimum of one pull per class per event, or two pulls per round when using a stone boat. Tractor may jump weight classes but not jump from Antique to Classic or vice versa. Tractors will receive no more than one trophy per class with only the first driver being eligible for a trophy. 5. A tractor must not have any added governor controls such as strings, wires, or foot controls. Use of factory installed governor controls (example: John Deere H) cannot be used. Engine RPM is to be no more than 10% over factory specifications. Pulling speed is controlled by a speed limit horn. You are allowed two warning beeps. A driver is disqualified upon the third beep of the horn or one beep longer than three seconds. Antique/Classic Class is set at 2.8 mph, while Fun Class is set at 4.5 mph. 6. There should be no alterations from original manufacture except at the point of clevis to obtain a maximum height of 19 inches at the point of hitch. The hitching point must extend beyond the outside radius of the rear tire. Clevises are to be rigid, have a minimum 3-inch opening, and be flat or twisted. No vertical clevises are allowed. 7. The driver must remain seated and physically signal tractor is out of gear when hitching and unhitching from the sled. The driver must remain firmly seated and keep one hand on the wheel at all times while pulling while obeying the track flagman’s signals. The chain must be tight and track flagman signal “go” before proceeding to pull the sled 10. No weights shall extend beyond the front of the tractor by more than two feet. No added weight behind the hitch point will be allowed. All weights must be safely secured to the tractor. Any objects falling of a tractor while hooked results in disqualification. 11. A maximum tire width of 18.4 inches will be allowed with 33-inch rims or less. A maximum of 15.5 inches will be allowed for rims over 33 inches. If tires are other than what the rules specify, burden of proof of stock tire size is on the puller. One size over factory stock tire width is allowed. No rice tires or radial tires shall be used. The front of traction bars cannot be altered. There are no restrictions on the top of the bars. 12. Maximum rim width is as follows: 10 inches (2500), 11 inches (3500), 12 inches (4500), and 14 inches (5500 & 6500). Dual wheels are not allowed. Tractors must be two-wheel drive. 15. Minimum age of a driver is 14 years old. Written consent of a guardian is required if a driver is under 18 years of age. Proof of age is required unless superseded by fairground rules. 16. Pull will be based on the distance pulled. When pulling a stone boat: If the sled is at one end of the track and the puller is unsuccessful in moving the boat on his first attempt, the operator may request the sled be moved to the center of the track. 17. Out of bounds lines will be clearly marked. If a tractor touches the line, the driver is disqualified. 18. Judges will determine if a tractor’s front end is rising above a safe point. Wheelie bars are recommended. 19. No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed by participants before, during, or after the pull. 20. Violations of any rules or unsportsman-like activity shall be cause for disqualification of a participant. Entry fees will not be refunded upon disqualification. 21. All pulls shall have three judges whose majority decision will be final. A club member will be head judge. 22. Any of the above rules may be waived as per interpretation by the judges. 23. It is suggested that each tractor carry an approved fire extinguished class ABC. 24. CLINTONIA ANTIQUE FARM POWER CLUB WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO A TRACTOR OR DRIVER, SPECTATORS, OR ANY EQUIPMENT WHILE PARTICIPATING IN THE PULLING CONTEST.

Rules for Farm Stock Class 1. General Rules: Any regulations not mentioned for the farm stock class can be obtained from Clintonia’s general tractor pulling rules (Listed seperately). 2. Entry: Farm stock tractors shall be manufactured in 1958 or before. A tractor cannot be entered in classes below its manufactured shipping weight. A farm stock tractor may pull in antique, classic, or fun classes if it meets the criteria for that class. 3. Rims / Wheels / Tires: Tractors must have OEM diameter rims and centers. Rim width may not exceed OEM. This also applies to welded rims that have been fitted to replace steel wheels. If a tractor was not originally equipped with pressed steel centers, OEM cast iron or spoke centers must be used. Use original hubs only. Tire size may be one size over original width for that make/model of tractor (but not exceeding the sizes listed under the general rules according to rim width). No sharpened tires. “Road worn” tires will be inspected and are subject to track official’s discretion. 4. Speed: Speed is not to exceed 2.5 mph after a tractor passes the 50 ft. mark. If the speed limit horn sounds once after the 50 ft. mark is passed, the driver is disqualified. 5. Engine: Engines need to have a stock block and be naturally aspirated unless originally equipped from the factory with a blower or turbo. Stock heads, manifolds, and carburetors are to be used. Engine parts not listed in a parts book or replacement parts book for that specific make and model cannot be used. No electronic ignition systems, MSD, square, or chrome coils allowed. The only exceptions include magneto/distributor and 6V/12V generator/alternator conversions. 6. Appearance: Tractors must remain with the original appearance. If a part is not listed in the manufacturer’s parts book, it cannot be used. No extra accessories are allowed. No aluminum or chrome is allowed except for exhaust pipes. All guards, shrouds, covers, and shields shall be in the proper place and made of the original material (steel or iron). If there is no PTO shaft on the tractor, the rear end must have a factory cover in place. The tractor seat can be an original or a replacement seat (TSC) as long as stock mountings are used. No home made engine shrouds allowed. Alternators and straight pipe exhausts are okay. Hitches must remain as close to stock appearance as possible. Any altered items are subject to track official’s discretion. 7. Farm stock rules are eligible for changes following the completion of the 2004-pulling season.
