How many chickens (and I mean the 2-legged kind with wings and feathers, not the ones you meet on the highway) does it take to shut down a Tractor Pull? Well let's see, we have 3 - 300' chicken houses with about 75,000 chickens in each house sitting adjacent to our pulling track. What happened you ask? Well unfortunately for the fine people of Granby, Mo they were hit with a severe thunderstorm and strong winds on Sunday Morning which knocked out the power to the town and surrounding area. We postponed our pull on Sunday due to lack of electricity and an extremely wet track and rescheduled it for today. Weather was great, track was dry, and boy did we have the tractors. (Also had some great eats too). But alas NO ELECTRICITY!!!!. The manager of the chicken farm came over and requested that we do not have our pull because the noise of the louder tractors will rile up his chickens, and when they get riled up, they get hot, and with no electricity he has no fans to cool the chickens down. So, being neighborly, we wait, and wait, and wait, and serve food, and wait, and at about 3:30 PM we decided to reschedule our pull for next Sunday July 13, 2005 at 1:00PM. So as you can see, and this is probably a first, the chickens won and the tractors lost. I would like to thank all you pullers who came on down to Granby with the intention of pulling. Glad we could feed you and we hope you will come back and join us on July 13. If you have any questions, give me a call at 417-642-5751 or my cell at 417-860-2418. Thanks again, and HAPPY PULLING.
