Dear ChadS and other readers,
Sorry for all the confusion. I wrote the article for the Hook magazine to let people know about the highlights of the NATPA meeting. One of the big issues was the MM 335's and the Ford 600's getting to pull below the 3500 lbs. class. Most NATPA members were sent a form letter that indicated this issue and the issue about adding a 3250 lbs. DIV 5 class was going to be discussed and then voted on. This was not discussed, nor was it voted on. We were told by the Board that the MM 335's and Ford 600's would no longer be allowed to pull below the 3500 lbs. classes. The 3250 lbs. DIV 5 was never brought up. I've been told that since the meeting took place, this rule might be changed again to let them pull below 3500 lbs. classes. (Maybe have their own class). We did get to vote on the RPM rule for DIV 5. But, this rule cannot be changed for another season do to the NATPA by-laws. We did not get to vote for a new Pesident for the club. The board voted on this at a later date. I did not write the article to bash the NATPA. I've made some good friends threw the NATPA, and enjoy the competition. I'm just a nobody, which happens to be a member of the NATPA. I was asked to write some articles about the NATPA season. I might be doing it for the next season as well. I thought I was clear in the article on what had transpired. If I wasn't - I apologize.

Why should the Ford 600s have to pull in the 3500# class when they could pull in the 3000# with no striping, fenders and all. The 600 has 134ci. How many ci.'s do the wc alis's have? With so many tractors stripping to drop to lighter classes, now they want the Fords to "add" 500 + pounds just to have a class to pull in. At many pulls in our area, the 960's are pulling in the 3500# class.

Big Motors,
First off you shouldn't apologize for anything you wrote in your artile or on the board. Last time I check this still is America and we are allowed to say what ever we want. As for NATPA it just comes accrossed funny to me that all of the crying about the different rules in the different Divisions are usually by the individuals that don't even pull in the Divisions that they are so worried about. I am just wondering why the whole membership is allowed to vote on all the Divisions rules instead of members only allowed to vote on the Division rules they pull in. Cause do you ever hear the Div. 5 guys running around crying how many RPM's Div. 1 are allowed or what tires they have or ect? No but you sure seem to hear the lower Divisons harping all over the upper ones. Secondly, for those of you that have all the answers on how to fix the NATPA (which I know I sure don't.) Run for an office, become a vocal member, something cause pissing and moaning on this message board is not hitting the attention of the proper individuals, so don't just sit back and point fingers and cry about the past, cause that is what it is the past. Move on take it like a MAN and suck it up and keep pulling or go to a new club that is more your liking, which it appears there are alot of them out there to pull with. Personnally, I could care less cause I only go to a few NATPA pulls a year and go knowing that I am going to have to play by their rules. Thing is I go to have FUN and visit with FRIENDS from afar not cry about how I didn't get a fair shake or how the guys in DIV 5 are running illegal. If the Div 5 guys are illegal, I have faith in the officials that they could make the call. Before I get off my soap box here I will say something we all know, "there are two types of pullers losers and cheaters, its all in how well you can do both." Lastly, Bigmotors keep writting cause I like reading your articles and don't be afraid to voice your views.
